It almost goes without saying that the church blesses marriage: both before the service, and during the wedding service itself. Marriage in the Church of England must, of course, conform to English law, and those who wish to marry in a parish church have to satisfy certain criteria laid down by the State. It is a good idea to check that you are eligible to get married in our church if you are thinking of doing so. The Vicar can explain.
More and more people are finding that they want to reaffirm the vows they took, perhaps at a significant anniversary such as “Silver” and “Golden” Weddings, and we welcome this chance to share their celebration.
- For weddings please contact the Vicar in the first instance.
- All couples will need to check that they are eligible to be married within the parish (the banns must be read). Couples will also need to attend a wedding preparation course.
- We are able to offer organist, choir and bells for your service.
